The EmployerOne survey is carried out regularly to better understand the local labour market from the perspective of employers in Brantford, Six Nations, Mississaugas of the Credit, and Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
The Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie survey allows our community to stay informed about the HR and workforce needs, experiences and challenges of local businesses.
2024 EmployerOne survey results
The 2024 EmployerOne Survey had a special focus on skills and training.
The survey’s aim was to better understand how employers support skill development in Grand Erie’s workforce.
Hearing directly from employers helped to identify what types of skills building and training programs, projects and partnerships could enhance the skills of our community’s workforce for today – and tomorrow.
2023 EmployerOne survey
The Workforce Planning Board conducted its 8th EmployerOne survey in January 2023, with 249 businesses completing it.

EmployerOne 2020 results
Many local employers reported that recruitment and retention challenges was a major concern when they filled out the 2020 survey.
The survey engaged 251 employers in Six Nations, Mississaugas of the Credit, County of Brant, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and City of Brantford.
Fifty-nine percent of survey participants said retention was a top concern for their organization.
In addition, 86% of businesses reported that recruitment and retention challenges have impacted their business. The No. 1 impact was reduced productivity, followed by increased pressure on existing staff and negative impact on customer service.
