The EmployerOne survey is carried out regularly to better understand the local labour market from the perspective of Grand Erie region employers. The Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie’s survey collects valuable first-hand information from businesses in Six Nations, Mississaugas of the Credit, Brantford and Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
EmployerOne allows our community to stay informed about the HR and workforce needs, challenges and successes of local businesses.
2024 EmployerOne Survey – Skills & Training
The 2024 EmployerOne Survey has a special focus on skills and training.
The survey’s aim is to better understand how employers currently support skill development in Grand Erie’s workforce.
Hearing directly from employers will allow us to identify successes, challenges, gaps and needs. It will also help identify what types of skills building and training programs, projects and partnerships could enhance the skills of our community’s workforce for today – and tomorrow.

The Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie conducted its 8th EmployerOne survey in January 2023, with 249 businesses completing it.

EmployerOne 2020 results
Many local employers say recruitment and retention challenges is a major concern, the 2020 EmployerOne survey found.
Our community’s seventh annual EmployerOne survey, conducted in January 2020, engaged 251 employers in Six Nations, Mississaugas of the Credit, County of Brant, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and City of Brantford.
Fifty-nine percent of survey participants said retention is a top concern for their organization.
In addition, 86% of businesses reported that recruitment and retention challenges have impacted their business. The No. 1 impact was reduced productivity, followed by increased pressure on existing staff and negative impact on customer service.
This is one of many highlights from EmployerOne 2020.
